Thank you All Saints for another day of heaven-opening worship. With the BAFTAs rattling on in the background, these were some of my highlights from the 10.30 this morning.
The welcome given to the baptism party early arrivals – drinks in the creche and toys ready to roll.
The medic, the nurse and the first-aider all at the side of the man feeling ill, with neighbours supporting, and the hospital chaplain drawing my attention to it. Meanwhile Mandy continuing to set out a masterful melange of Revolution, New York, Romans and Baptism!
Young people rushing to the front to share their enthusiasm from Adventurers, and praying with hesitation or repetition to launch Shirley into her new role as Community Engagement Worker.
Fun and Gravity in the songs, and did Mike really play the organ at the end?
Toddlers coming to say hello during prayers; teenagers spending time with youngsters after the service.
Tea and coffee provided with love and grace.
You’d think it was a party!
(Shh – don’t tell everyone…)
